A knowledge based selection tool has been developed by Neue Schule Bitting team that helps to guide you through the process of selecting a bit that is suitable for the discipline in which you participate and also importantly, the level of your activty. 3.	Colour	The reason we require this information is because some horse such as coloureds,  cremello’s etc that may have pinky lips are generally much more sensitive within the mouth and may prove more prone to rubs etc.
4.	Size / Build
5.	Mare / Gelding / Stallion
6.	Are you a pleasure rider or do you compete.	If yes, what discipline and how would you describe your horses level of training. For instance could you go out and do a half decent prelim/novice test etc.
7.	How long have you owned the horse?
8.	Are you happy with the feet, back, saddle and teeth.	When were any of these last checked?
9.	Any physiological or mechanical issues that you are aware of and anything else that you feel may be relevant.
10.	Size of and type of current bit.
11.	Bits that have been used in the past and the response.
12.	When changing bits have you found an initial improvement that has worn off?	If so how long was the benefit for?
13.	Which bit has proven to be the most beneficial on the flat and for faster work?
