Dressage

Richard is a four-time Olympian, his most recent Olympic experience being at the 2012 London Olympic Games, where he finished 26th in the individual Grand Prix special dressage, and also he’s a five time World Cup Finalist. Richard and his wife Gillian Davison and their two children Tom and Joe, both successful show jumpers, are based on a family farm in Staffordshire.

Richard was six times Britain’s number one in the international dressage rider rankings in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002. In 2009 it was a year of many wins for Richard, he won the Equestrian Personality of the Year Award at the Horse of the Year Show, the Kampmann Trophy in Germany, The Grand Prix Kur in Biaritz in France, the Grand Prix and Kur in Hartpury, the Grand Prix Kampmann trophy at Hickstead, and the Grand Prix Kur sunshine tour in Spain. Closely followed by another big winning year for Richard; at the 2010 CDI-W Lipicia, Slovenia in May 2010, he won the Grand Prix and World Cup qualifying Freestyle In May 2012, he finished 1st in the Munich CDI4* World Dressage Masters, GER ‐GPS on Hiscox Artemis. He is an European team silver and bronze medallist, so far Richard has competed in 4 Olympics and 5 World Cups, at the London Olympics he rode the horse Hiscox Artemis, owned by Countess of Derby and John Dodd Esq. to the Freestyle music by Sir Elton John, as just an individual, finishing 26th. He is looking forward to Rio in 2016.
