Emily’s passion for riding stemmed from an early age where she was brought up watching her father hunting. She went on to ride numerous ponies and horses that shaped her career. Most recently Drivetime, who was bought for Emily to ride by Lord and Lady Harris. 2013 has been a fantastic year for Emily and Drivetime where they finished 4th in the CIC*** World Cup at Chatsworth, alongside producing two young horses up the ranks, Rinwood Cooley and Cooley All Business. Last year (2012) included a trip to Haras du Pin CICW*** where Emily and Drivetime came 5th, along with a successful appearance in Aachen’s Nationals Cup and a double clear at Blenheim CCI*** coming 12th. When asked what bit was Emily’s favourite she replied: “The bit I use the most and start out with on all of my horses is the Neue Schule Team Up.  They are happy to be soft and round without sitting behind it, or leaning on it. I haven’t yet found a horse who isn’t happy in it. For jumping I really like the Waterford mouthpiece, especially on a young horse XC when they start to get the idea of XC and become a bit stronger, I often use the Waterford Full Cheek. The horses respect it without being afraid to go forward, and without being too reactive to the mouthpiece.”
