Question
At the moment he is just in a cheaper lozenge snaffle. He has become very fussy in his mouth and often sticks his tongue out and kind of licks the corners. He can be resistant, heavy and run through my hands and although I can get some soft work out of him, he has become more and more mouthy and I don’t always feel in control when out hacking. He has the typical short neck of a cob with fleshy lips and a big tongue. I was looking at the Verbindend and wonder what your thoughts were?
Suggestion
We would agree that the Verbindend would be a logical choice; the 16mm thickness (9011) would be the one to try initially. If he responds well to this but you feel you need a little more help, then you could consider the 12mm thickness (9010). Or alternatively if the Verbindend is ticking all the boxes on the flat but you feel that you need a little more help when out hacking then you could try the Verbindend Universal. We would suggest that you only change one thing at a time otherwise you can’t determine what has caused the affect.
